@Flowerchild I have checked the Ascot dress code, you can wear trousers with a matching jacket but no strappy/see through tops! I feel my beans are struggling with the cold weather.

    Geoff how many hanging baskets?

10 hanging baskets, 6 big wall baskets,10 smaller wall baskets for the fence-I am a basket caseimage

There was a chap on Daybreak in a blue suit -not acceptable in the Royal enclosure-we are really all in this together-just some more than most.image

Next doors completely untended and neglected garden has got an agapanthus with about 20 flower buds and roses blooming-yet he does nothing,no pruning no feeding no weeding-why do we strive so hard?image

@ Kate, Oooow that 's a relief, now I only need to find my hat..... should I ask Alice?

@ Geoff, now that is Spain for you. Garden centers overthere are famous for their dresses image   BTW, aren't you coming to Holland soon? If you can do visit the Floriade but make sure the weather is nice otherwise it can be very dissappointing.

Lottie buys all her dresses in garden centres and she is a fashionista

We have one day in Amsterdam in September to do the ashes thing and a quick tourist visit-will we be passing your house so I can wave?

I wonder how Flo got on with her dog show at the weekend-did she come back laden with rosettes?

@Geoff, I feel a little reassured by all the Ascot stuff, money needs to trickle down. We will only worry about you when you start to make your own basketsimage

@Flowerchild I think hats are a pain at weddings, obviously I would wear one at the Races.

No fascinators and no spaghetti straps-whatever those are- and no bare midriffs-her Maj must have spent hours chopping and changing her outfits to get in

@ Geoff, yes you will be passing it.....but only by boat as we're on the other side in the province of Limburg. I do have a very tall step ladder so I 'll try my best that day. You might run into my cousins though, they both have been living there since their studies at the University of Amsterdam.

@ Kate, no I wouldn't want to wear a hat either as they give me headaches, so no Ascot for me then.

    OK, dinner time.

Spaghetti straps are useful if you get peckish.

    Same goes for bootlaces.

Not sure I am a fashionista, my brother asked me why I was wearing a curtain!!!

Oh no, I was in a strappy top at the allotment today - no wonder Mrs PP hurried Mr PP away!

I have been to Ascot, I have worn hats. It was a long time ago.
