Geoff, I doubt it. It's mainly Jess's stuff. Clothes, unused toys and stuff. Oh, and a microwave, childs car seat, books, CDs, Pair of brand new winter boots, bit of costume jewellery, unless you like playing dress up?? image

Bonfire and fair were enjoyable, but bloody expensive!! Rides ranged from £2-£3.50!! 4 doughnuts cost me £2.50!! image Rip off! I take back all what I said about Alton Towers yesterday. At least there you can go on the rides unlimited! Cost me £25 last night, in 2 hours! image

Jean, I would be fuming too!

Dove, it's a virus going round the forum. Geoff started it! image Hope you feel better soon. x

Becks-The trouble is the big stuff is collection only?-which limits your chances-you could hold onto the microwave as a soil steriliser perhaps?

Why selling new boots-it is winter now?

Jess does take a good pictureimage

Just found out that daughter at work until midnight. So another disturbed night for me....

Have decided too cold for me to get stuck in outside today. By the time had well wrapped myself up would be going dark again. Will get a 'whole' day out there later in week. Makes more sense.

Going to start some sorting out re my 'new' airing cupboard. Paint is dry now. Looks very smart in there & there is some heat being produced from when boiler on 2x a day. It's the jumpers that will be a problem unless I can finish off the drying in there just as before. Daughter seems to have some/most that shouldnt be tumbled so having them on an airer for days is going to drive me mad.

OH decided to turn the hot water temperature down this morning. Daughter & me have turned it back up again! Not quite sure what temp it was set at, but it was rather too hot for me originally. I suppose trial & error until we get the hang of things. Think have got the hang of 'advance' on the heating now. Old system had +1hr which just got popped on for an hr if cold in the middle of the day. OH grumbling that new controller not as detailed as he expected!

    Right, off to sort. J.

Geoff, there doesn't seem to be a shortage of 'collectors' round here. I bought the boots off Amazon a couple of months ago, the furry type, but I like to wear them over my jeans, and these are too snug to tuck anything in. Should have returned them really, but didn't try them on straight away. Too late to return them now.

Did you put a reserve on your book?

  • sotongeoffsotongeoff Posts: 9,802

Are you sure it is the boots that are too snug?image

No reserve-that is a buy it now one on there for £200-looked on Friday night at previous auctions for the same item an there were lots of bids-approaching the £100mark

  • Jean, I hope peace and tranquility has now been restored, and at least you have the excuse to go shopping for a new pot now.

Any bonfires needing lighting? Am something of an expert....

Jo, advance on the heating system just means it turns on and then reverts to normal turn off time once it reaches it. I had a bit of a fight with the boys over the weekend as they were insisting the heating needed to be on 24 hours and I disagreed!

The food diary is because I'm taking part in a study being run by the University of Surrey about vitamin D deficiency in women, and the link with osteoporosis. I have to keep a diet diary, then on Friday morning I go to the University first thing in the morning (not allowed to eat for 12 hours before) and have a blood test and bone scan, then get fed a yummy breakfast. Then I have a dietary supplement and go back in 6 weeks time and again in 12 weeks. All in the name of science!
