Felt sorry for Kristina on SCD. She takes the competition so seriously. She's one of my favourite dancers. But Colin Salmon was too tall, and also far too laid back. He had to go.

The path over my lawn to the birdtable is getting very muddy. This is only the beginning of Winter, so it's bound to get worse. Am thinking of putting down a few stepping stones over the grass to prevent further deterioration.
Morning everyone. We have the biggest frost of the year so far and I need to get out there and move some pots . Plenty of layers methinks. The birds are out in full force today - glad I topped up the food yesterday - can't risk walking on grass until frost has gone.
Gary, I would be thinking of putting something to step on down as well.
Well, thats the end of Downton Thought it was very tame last night. Expected a big scandal of some sort, however , looking forward to Xmas special.

I'm glad I got all the delicate pots into the garage, even though I'm now being nagged to move them because car stuff has to happen in there!
I'm keeping a food diary at the moment, and I have to note down everything I eat (that includes every little snack and cheeky chocolate bar or cookie!). Its quite an eye opener!
Quick visit to get my register mark. Special wishes to teachers this morning though clearly too late to say so. My 9 year old niece is with me for the day - requires much entertainment, I shall need a long rest and wine this evening.
Neighbour came and called for OH 8.30 this morning to go and play - building bonfire!.OH taken dog for walk muttering about a whole day to build a small bonfire.
Found toffee apple muffin recipe so will make them this afternoon for the grand event.
Didn't say - yesreday OH went back to using bread machine - phew - not quite right but better than his
The cavity wall people turned up at 9 . They were supposed to come at 11 till 1. Not happy. Asked them politely if they could keep off the grass but they have to walk all over it to place their ladders so I will have brown patches all over it now. Its still really frosty and white. Had to ferry buckets of hot water to and fro to them as their equipment was frozen. Asked them why they were here so early and they said their first job had been cancelled. Some of the neighbours were still in bed when they arrived so don't think they'll be very happyeither. Planned on staying in as I was concerned for the cats as it's bonfire night as well but the noise is horrendous. It's like being in a war zone
Hope it's going to be worth it. Had to turn heating off as well as they need to use the power point in the garage which is attatched to the house. No point in letting the heat escape as the door is wide open.
Jean - at least they have turned up. Soon be over, workmen I find no respecter of lawn!
Becks - as I was still in bed and OH was doing the important task of making my cup of tea he didn't go and play.
Neighbour is an army officer, OH came in laughing away after talking to him _ seems army man was intending to light firelighters and throw them on bonfire to get it to light
OH suggested making a long spill of newspaper and lighting buried firelighters that way - Army person didn't know what a spill is.
