Just catching up. Golly gosh - Fires, chocolate brownies, pobs , there's a lot going on here. Poor Geoff - sounds like a dose of man-flu to me.
Pobs - bread, milk , and sugar . I remember my Nan giving me that when I was a child. I also remember her putting a bread poultice on a certain part of my anatomy when I had a boil. Sitting down was extremely difficult.
Message for Sotongeoff, Geoff, I understand you have Man Flu, so here's something to cheer you up, the new Series of "Merlin" has been advertised on the Beeb so keep a look out for it, I would think it will start in November.
I remember pobs, and if you were under the weather my grandma's remedy was a cup of tea with a teaspoon of whiskey, poured into the saucer to cool and slurped. She had all sorts of weird and wonderful remedies, beef tea, calves foot jelly, indian brandee, senna pods. She was a herbalist, and long before the NHS she would treat and nurse most of the people who lived in our street. Before my time I hasten to add.
I like Merlin and Strictly, so that's something to look forward to, Saturday nights tele is for me usually rubbish.
Geoff, I will look for the numbers for you and get back tomorrow.
'Night all, hot water bottle in, now for my book and bed.

I don't know nola. Hopefully they'll get bored in a bit, but as all the posts are being done at the same time, it looks like a bot.
