Love to keeps chickens but cats and birds not a good combination. Your garden's lovely though - amazed the chickens haven't eaten everything in site.

That should be ''sight '' of course.

  • Lovely chickens, Geoff.

I watched Paul O'Grady. I wonder what that poor dog had been through to be so scared. I hope he has a permanent home now.

I've spent an hour or so putting barley straw in nets as it is supposed to clear algae from ponds. It's quite a big pond about 25 by 15 metres. It was clear for the first few years but is quite cloudy now. the grandchildren put about 6 goldfish in and now there are hundreds. I think that's what made the water cloudy. Has anyone tried the barley straw method?

  • I've tried barley straw in my pond without any luck, sorry to disappoint

  • I'd be very happy with hundreds of goldfish.

OMG it's torrential out there again! It better be dryer tomorrow as need to be busy out there moving things from coldframes back to inside & pricking out those poor (actually look ok) seedlings! J.

  • Wasnt Benny on Paul Ogradys show gorgeous, wish the show was longer than half an hour. Went to Brighton with my daughter on Friday and its taken me this long to recover. Can you get jet lag going to a neighbouring town?? Managed to clear out the greenhouse disturbing a lot of spiders at the same time. I think your chickens are wonderful if i had the space i would have some. I do have some living next door and one of my cats does enjoy winding them up. Have you ever heard anything so absurd as a sharing bag of chocolate?

Some things in life are meant for sharing, Maud. Chocolate is not one of them. You may have to share on here though - cyberetically of course . Think I may have discovered a new word.

  • My husband is a diabetic so i dont have to share with him but my daughter is as bad as me. Best i dont buy it then its not there to eat. Cake is another matter though a whole sponge would be greedy.

Cyberetically is a lovely word, I will practise saying it fluently and then try and pop it into a conversation later.

Chocolate is only for sharing if someone else bought it.image
