Morning all - managed to stay awake and watch it all - loved Eric Idle thought it a little sad when the flame eventually expired. Not sure about Brian May's tights !! Gary - I thought Prince William would be there but had read somewhere that the Queen would not be attending.
My horsefliebites are now black and blue but swelling has gone down
Enjoyed the closing ceremony, thought the Spice Girls funny when careering round the stadium on the top of the taxis, expected Victoria Beckham to fly off into the crowd at one point. Eric Idle was brill, as was Stomp.
The Queen was probably at Balmoral enjoying a Gin and Dubonnet, rightly so, and perhaps Wills was on duty in his helicopter, I did see one hovering over the stadium.
The extinguishing of the flame was a very poignant moment, Roll on Rio, we certainly will need sequins and maraca's for that, and we only have 4 years to brush up on our Latin American skills before then Will that be long enough?
What's next on the agenda, Strictly Come Dancing??? Are we entering, I bags Anton du Beck as a partner, he would need a sense of humour to get me to dancing - 2 left feet!..
The Who were no doubt my fave of the evening, couldn't help but tear up when the flame went out. Have been singing Baba O'Reily all morning and will prob be singing through out the day, along with My Generation.
Yes The Who were great, but the sound quality was not all it could have been, or perhaps it me. Once you get a tune in your head, you just can't stop singing it!

I think that is it

-off to bed- got to be up in 7 hours
I can take my headphones off now! Had them on for the 3 hours. Night Geoff.
I thought Pete Townsend and George Micheal were in prison
Why didn't I think of that. Listening through headphones would have enchanced the experience.

Thought it was very strange that the Queen, and prince William, were not present, considering that he was a games ambassador.
Thought the huge trucks transforming into platforms for bands driving round the arena was a brilliant idea.
Am experiencing a sense of loss and grief this morning.
Back to rain it seems too. Normal service resumed.
