Hi Geoff - yes I think thats a good idea but the soil is thin and dry but I suppose I could bolster it up some. Gary was right - that Birch tree was far too big for the size of the garden . Now it's been halved and the lower branches lifted it's so much brighter.

Just been watching the last of the volleyball with a huge bar of Galaxy.Googled the closing ceremony and it looks really good ! Nuns with skates London cabbies all sorts going on. Looking forward to it but a little sad that it's last day.

Jean the Ox-eyes grow to 2 feet in most of the garden but only 18 inches under the tree. I think they are really part of the chrysanth family and they are white.

I think someone has got it in for me, 10 community payback volunteers have just arrived armed with strimmers and blowers to clear a footpath near me, do they not know that it is Sunday?

  • Had a few minutes deadheading in between getting ready for a bbq, daughter with broken foot coming with partner, making the most of the lovely weather. On the menu is pork steaks with garlic and sage, buffalo drumsticks, now there's a thought! sausage and the must have beefburgers. Strawberry cheesecake to follow, courtesy of Tesco special offer.

Looking forward to what looks like an epic TV session tonight, bottles of wine at the ready, Hope everyone enjoys it!image

I too love "We love to boogie" especially by Marc Bolam.it really makes you want to dance.image

Is anyone having problems with the forum? Took me ages - it wouldn't let me type and I'm not getting e-mail notification.

Flo , cyclamen sounds like another good idea - leg now resembles small balloon . Trip to doc tomorrow if it doesn't subside .

Kate , I will send you the horsefly to set upon the strimming people - I like my peace and quiet on a Sunday.

Enjoy your bbq LTG - we had one last night and our lot didn't leave until midnight ! Feeling it today though -  want a doze now after choccy bar. Menu sounds very impressive . image

Jean-you plonkeress-the e-mail subject was covered yesterday -have reported it as a bug-I quite often find I can't log on or it slows down to slug pace.

Kate-you might find this is the only day they can get them together- straight after churchimage

Now big a buffalo drumsticks? -that sound like food for Desperate Danimage
