Moi. I always use that phrase Geoff, my mum used it too. The trouble is the steps and the snow drift, couldn't clear it with my wellies, they were too deep and couldn't find the edge of the steps. OH watching from usptairs window with cat. Had to leave the food, but don't think they will come down that far.

Ok -I will ask -who is Nanook of the North?
Thanks Jean
- I'm following Jo's advice and having honey & lemon hot drinks now (somehow a tot of brandy crept in as well).
Glyn - don't go any further - we could lose you!!!
BJay here's the pattern (idea of size - a creme egg fits in the chick sideways)
Easter Chick - No. 10 Needles (3.25 mm)
Cast on 24 stitches and knit 2 rows
Increase 1 stitch at beginning of every row until 36 sts on needle
Knit a further 2 rows
Cast off 11 stitches at beginning of next 2 rows (14 stitches left)
Knit 12 rows
Knit 2 together across the row.
Cut off wool leaving about 12 inches
Using darning needle draw wool through remaining 7 stitches.
With the remainder of wool sew the chick leaving space at the bottom to insert a cream egg.
Decorate chick with eyes and beak.
Very good decision goldi! Have one for me!
Afternoon All!
Am home safe following a very daunting day, in the wagon, playing in the very thick snow!
Common sence provailed, and we was all called back to depot!
Can hear my fridge shouting "Bar's Open"
I wouldn't like a cream egg inserted in my bottom.
