    Just read a post from Dove who reckons not polythene So I suppose youcould use landscape fabric - however bags are free and it's recycling.

    My beds are raised because underneath is a warren of roots from trees and shrubs, some we cut down, some are not so the only way to get enough decent soil was to build upwards

    Crikey Flo-they dont give this away-you will need to buy a bike-a tandem would be niceimage- or a trandem like the Goodiesimage-a new bed and a 3 piece suite-this veg growing needs to be productive to make this payimage

    Right - that is my lot for today. Just a little bit left to in one of the borders to weed but we have spotty rain. image It was forecast for today though.

    Sown Canary creepers , oriental poppies (dwarf allegro). sweet sultan,rudbeckia,echinacea and the cosmos seeds I saved from my plants last year. Good job I 've got that extra heated propagator. image

    All for my bumble bee border. Getting very excited now. image All taking shape.

    I think I'm going to have another heavy date with Mr Radox image - knackered now.

    Talkig of seed sowing - today I have set my morning glory seeds to soak - how long fof? should I have chitted them? If so what does that mean? image

    There was talk of morning glory the other day-will see if I can find it-perceived wisdom is do not so too earlyimage

    Bjay - just half an hour should do it . No need to chit them. That's all I did last year and they all came up. image

    Which ones are they ? I sowed Flying Saucers . They were lovely.
