Please can some one help me, I've been planting market more cucumbers from seed and growing them indoors as I don't have a green house or garden. They are growing really good at the monent but need to know how much room do they need and how tall will they grow. 2nd. Will they flower on there own or do I, need to give them any assistant. Any help would be good.
Anyone know if the prikly things on cucumber have anything to do with knowing whether they are ripe or not? I thought that I have read before to pick them when the prickly things smooth out, but I don't remember.
Hoping to grow Marketmore in a greenhouse this season. From another post I take it that eating the cus' very small Is good. Question: is the breed 'all female' flowers? If not please suggest a plant that is.
I have grown marketmore for two seasons now both in the greenhouse and outside I found that if anything they did better outside last year, they are best picked before they are six inches long to keep that beautiful fresh taste. I grew telegraph in the greenhouse last year and thought that I would be able to remove the male flowers before they pollinated the female flowers but I couldn't and nearly every one had that nasty bitter taste. Next season I shall stick to marketmore outside just hope that the weather is as good as last year.

Mine are now about 4' growing up a cane against a fence and in grobags. Came here looking for best size to harvest. One about 6' long, so here goes!

Q: are Marketmore flowers all female?

RHS says do not remove male flowers. This suggests there are male flowers

Sorry Delfost, I haven't got a clue. I'd never heard of Marketmore so I had to find out and that's what turned up
