rose problem

I bought a red hybrid tea half standard rose 4 years ago. It has flowered every year but I have just noticed that it is producing white foribunda roses this year! It has also put on much more growth than before. Any ideas what has happened and suggestions how I can get my red roses back. Thanks.

Has the rootstock taken over from the grafted bit?

I think nuts got it, grafted standards can do that sometimes.

Is there anyway to sort out this problem?

    Good point Mike.

Have you got a photo of the rose bush rubber?

I will try and upload a photo tomorrow. I sent a message to Style Roses where I bought my roses from and they have asked for a photo too, so may get a solution from them. Will post their reply.

  • I have one doing the same.  They are not suckers so I am looking forward to some answers!

This is the rose in question. I think the stems with the white roses on are all coming from the graft. Will ring nursery tomorrow for instructions on pruning and let you all know. I am a bit worried that there will be nothing left when I have pruned off all the offending bits.
