Horsehair worm

image

This was moving about in between bricks which form a tiny flower bed next to my water feature thing.

Is it a horsehair worm?  Is it a good thing to have about?

I googled it and I think you are right, but it doesn't harm humans. Makes my skin crawl though!

Well that is pretty amazing because I saw those for the first time on Saturday after it had chucked it down. They were around my potatoes, when I first spotted one it looked like a thread blowing around in the wind. I picked some of them up and looked closer to see that they were long very thin worms.
