Half Barrel Ponds

Hello,
After a few weeks of umming and ahhing I finally purchased a half barrel to create my own little pond. The barrel isn't very big, about 19.5 inches wide by approx 9inches deep and will be positioned on 2 off cuts of wood on my patio.
I am wanting to add some Plants and after having a browse around I was wondering what all of your recommendations would be? I would love for it to attract frogs / toads and other wildlife.
All of your recommendations (if any) will be highly appreciated
I hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday!

Hi NGCARDS, I've been thinking of making a small pond in a barrel too. There lots of ideas and suggestions on the web if you google 'barrel ponds'. Its very helpful with some great advice.
Hope this helps, look forward to your pics.....I've yet to get my barrel!
There's lots of people on here with ponds who could give you great advice too.
Thanks Star Gaze Lily
Yes I have had a look around the web, so many ideas, so it'd be nice to hear from others what they think works best

I've had this one complete with a working pump for a long time, just as water feature. I have to say I've never considered it as a pond, so I'll watch this thread with interest.
Thanks Dovefromabove and David your feature looks lovely and I agree hopefully we shall get some responses
Anybody at all?
