@dave warner.. check out the problem solving on home page.. it has weed sin it.. and it does look like yours is chickweed.. sorry i was not looking at picture properly.
I reckon it is a white version of Claytonia sibirica. I have pink Claytonia in my garden and it is very pretty but seeds around a lot. I believe it is rich in Vitamin C and is why it was called miner's lettuce. The leaves are quite succulent.
Hi All. Penylan I live in Scotland. Whilst we are not on the sea we are very close to the Gare Loch with is a part of the Clyde. I will try take some better photo's next time I am in my friends Garden.

The square stems are very distinctive, so it's not stitchwort, or chickweed.

AHA! The Stewarton Flower. Usually pink so the common name is Pink Purslane, but white in n. Ayrshire.
