I have recently moved into a property and really need cut back a bush but need check I won't harm it. I think it is a spirea of some sort. If anyone can help out would be most grateful.

Do you have to cut it back before it's flowered? It won't harm it to cut it, but it's usually better after flowering. I think it's a spirea.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

It is spirea, think it's Dart's red.
