Twisting beech infestation- what to do?
I've got an established twisting beech in a pot. It's covered in small shiny brown limpet like nodules on the branch. I've removed one carefully, it's got a yellow gooey centre and loads oftiny tiny white spore like things. What should I do? How to remove them, I'm thinking slowly with soapy water?

I'm afraid you've got an infestation of scale insects - if you look here http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/advice/pests_and_diseases/identifier.shtml?scale_insects you'll find some suggestions as to the courses of action you can take. Good luck.
