ALPINE PLANTS

Replacing my front lawn  which is south facing  with a pea shingle surface but want to incorporate a large circle of alpine plants, as my husband is not a gardener and is my carer, so not a lot of time. One because I've been  watching Gardeners world  and see that they are low maintenance and two I want to attract butterflies and bees.

Any help would be gratefully received

The main thing is to give them really sharp drainage so dig in lots of grit when you plant them. They will withstand cold weather but they hate sitting in wet cold ground. Garden Centres have loads of them just now image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thankyou all. Will pop to garden centre 'after' the  bank holiday when its quiet.
