a few challenges
in Plants
ok gurus... hit me with your suggestions for the following.
1- a climber, preferably that flowers, that is suitable for a large container. isnt too quick growing, is hardy, and pretty. (and isnt ivy!)
2- an ornamental grass that is suitable fora small border, in an area which is bright and dry in summer but dark and damp in winter. nothing too spiky as its next to where we sit to eat in summer!
3- a herb (or otherwise) that likes to grow in small paving cracks but isnt thyme.i also have aubretia already doing well in the cracks
thank you!!

clematis the montania type. Camille lawn type herb .
Clematis are good in containers.
I've got a Rebecca in a not very big container and it's flowering very well right now.
Try to shade the container for clematis as they don't like their roots being warm.
Don't know about grasses.
I have oregano popping up all over the place in between paving/patio/just about everywhere comes up every year, but looks a bit messy if it gets trodden on.
The other option is chamomile which apparently works well. I did try, but the chamomile didn't seems to like the conditions here and didn't last. Google chamomile lawn to make sure you see the right variety.
good luck!
