Veg plant ID

Can anyone help me with what this could be, I've just 'found' it in the GH with the courgettes!   I think my neighbour may have given it me as it doesn't look like anything else I've grown. I'm pretty sure it's a vegetable of some type. image

I've been thinking and thinking and at last light has dawned - I think it's an aubergine

    I'd go with aubergine, too.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

You are right, it is an Aubergine.  The rest are on my family room window sill and this one was 'stray' because I was giving it away and didn't.  Thank you image

I'd better bring it inside, it's on the outdoor dining table getting wet!
