Shrubs for shady, north facing small front garden

Small, front, north facing garden. Underwater last winter. Small lawn died, became a weed bed. All taken up, two small circles developed one contains a magnolia stellata the other new and empty. They will be surrounded by small slate

Would like a flowering bush of some kind and thought of a Fuscia, as I have lots already growing in borders around back and front garden borders. Suggestions as to a hardy, shade prefering Fuscia would be gratefully received

I would have suggested Fushias too as I hve an area that's dark and dull and they do fine.  although I have other varieties a light leaved one isGenii, light green/yellow leaves and small purple /cerise flowers. It has been reliably hardy here in the NE for several years. They are of course easy to take cuttings from. Under plant with snowdrops and specie crocus for a spring display. I also grow Hostas in a similar area but it depends what your slug problem is like.image

Many thanks. Have looked at "hardy_fuscias" and am very much in agreement with Bilji that "Genii" could be the answer! I like the idea of underplanting with other species too.image
