Sweet Williams

Out of interest, how do you go about propagating from cuttings with Sweet William? Is it a case of choosing a tip and cutting it off at about 5 inches or so,then inserting in compost? I've googled Sweet William but it tends to come up with Dianthus in general. Some expert opinion sought from you guys image

Try Googling Dianthus Barbatus. But they are propagated by seed as fidgetbones said.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
