hi,
We have recently just laid new turf, brown bare patches have appeared in one corner of the new lawn, we water it regularly - any ideas on what it might be and how to rectify it?

no dave - we did have an extension built and the grass is beside this but we had gravel down as part of the garden where the turf now sits , we left the gravel in as extra drainage so the turf is on top of this, separated by top soil and build sand.
That will be your problem then, the builders sand. I'd lift the turf and remove some of the sand, dig in some composted material and relay the turf. Builders sand usually has some cement mixed in after construction and that isn't good for any lawn.
