Hardy geranium seeds not germinating
I sowed some sweet pea and hardy geranium pratense seeds just over two weeks ago, both indoor and outdoor (in plastic greenhouse). The sweet peas are both growing well (the indoor seedlings are a bit leggy), however the geraniums have not germinated at all inside, and just a couple of seeds outside have just started to sprout.
Do geraniums take longer to germinate? Are they best outside or in?
Thanks

They don't need heat, they're natives. They do very well sown in winter or early spring outside or in a cold GH

Best outside but its probably too warm for them. if you leave them and they dont germinate this summer, then save them in a cool place over winter and they will probably germinate next spring.
I tried some in a cold frame and greenhouse this spring and only 3 germinated. I put the seed tray outside on the floor last week and left it alone and another 4 have popped up almost straight away. They seem happy to look after themselves.

You won't find information about every seed on this site but it's worth a look to see just how many seeds do well cold
