I can't help thinking that the gel product is just a bit of a way of "adding value". Or to put it another way to make a bit more money.
It seems to me to be a bit of a gimic.
IF I'm "spot weeding" then I just paint a generic Glyphosate on the leaves with a brush. Same result and saves spending a fortune on some branded product in an expensive spray container or a gell which doesn't do anything any different. .
IF I need to do something more substantial then I just put it into a sprayer with a good nozzle that can be adjusted to "spray" or "fine jet"
Call me cynical but ....it's a money making scheme.
I don't rate these things at all but marketing men know how to get many of us to part with our hard earned cash
I do pretty much what NL2 does. I don't use a lot of weedkiller, but when I have to , I use Resolva as it works very quickly. I find many others take so long to work that another load of weeds have seeded in and started a new generation.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Greetings. Just to be up front I am a failed gardener. Bindweed has conquered. I took out this roundup gel and painted it on a few leaves as an experiment. My gloves were not one hundred percent waterproof and now I'm freaking out .......any suggestions? First time on this site....help welcome
Any suggestions for what mtkavana? If you're worried about your hands, just wash them thoroughly
If it's the bindweed, you're better to take a long stem and let it climb up a cane in the ground, and when it's a decent height, spray it with a decent weedkiller, because you get more of the stem coated. You can also shove stems into a poly bag and spray inside it and tie them. That keeps the weedkiller away from other plants nearby too.
You can also do a search for 'bindweed problems' using the search the site facility up at the top of the page

I bought Roundup gel to apply to weeds in recently laid turf. Problem is area of spreader, could use much smaller applicator to apply to weeds without affecting the grass. I cut a slot in a piece of plastic (cut from a milk carton) to protect the grass whilst applying.
it's been on for a week with no effect as yet so keeplng fingers crossed.
Thanks for the posts I'm a 1st time user in the Battle of the Bindweed.
I applied it successfully using 2 hands wearing thin handmax gloves. I gently support the offending leaf and wipe it on the Roundup head, while pumping when necessary with my other hand.
I'm also going on a dry weather forecast and in the Spring growing season.
