Cedar Trees are brown on one side
I planted my trees about 2 years ago in local soil (which is high in acid) with lime and garden compost.
The first year was great. Now after a long hard winter I noticed that one side of my trees are brown. I have fertilized them this spring as well as last fall. Any advise on how to save them would be great!! I have a total of 30 of them planted and would hate to lose them.

I am from Newfoundland Canada. Our winter was very long this year with lots of snow. I'm not sure about the frost but I have other cedar trees on my property that are great and no damage. I did notice that the trees that are browning on one side have been continuously hit by wind during winter. Could this be it? Can they be saved? Thanks for your help and I appreciate any tips or advise you may have.
My guess would be cold winds/frost. What proportion of any tree has gone brown? Have you a photo.
Conifers don't recover from going brown but if it's not much, the healthy growth might cover the damage
