my beautiful window boxes of violas seemed fine befire almost overnight becoming smothered in aphids and even after 2 days of spraying with just water and also soapy water think the'yre only good for compost, how has this happened so quickly? is it a bad year for aphids? managing to control them on roses with daily patrols

Verdin sorry to be sovereign thick but can you get organic insecticide? Really would like to stay natural if still all possible, are they worth saving then? Was just going to plant lavender instead, although... I know bees are wonderful to have but the b!?@&?s come in our house a lot so maybe lavender not on the windowsill, 3 year old terrified if anything buzzy at the moment
