I don't have a pic as of now but your photo does look very similar. However others are black all over and I'm very happy to have them Do you know how long they nest for?
We had bees nesting in the base of an old tree stump. The local bee keeper advised me to leave them alone as they were very passive and would be gone when the cold weather came. I was happy to have them but sadly the badger came to visit and dug the nest out, leaving it exposed to the elements and they all died. But our lavender hedge was completely covered in bees morning to night all summer. I never realised how many different species of bee there are. I love the sound of the humming on a hot summer day.
I have a Bumble bee nest under my decking very close to the back door for the second year now, I do not make any allowances for them, it does not bother me nor them it seems.
We had bumble bees nesting in one of our compost bins last year and we were very happy to have them.
However a few years ago, a swarm of honey bees set up home in the wall cavity, getting in through an air brick and we were instructed to kill them! I was distraught to say the least, I love bees!

I'm taking delivery of a birdbox full of probable tree bees this evening. Someone obviously doesn't love them but I do
