Rose - white Perpetue (problem No 2)

Hi

I have a white rose ( Perpetue) bought from a good nursery, a good strong plant . I have a south facing garden so I planted it so it would climb up the front of the house.

Year 1 was Ok, but last year and this year so not so good. Already its covered in black spot, I always make sure to pick the leaves off and burn them , the nearest rose is about 5 meters away. The rose is in a half barrel , put crocs in the bottom plus a mix of garden compost, horse manure and grit with a little BF&B. I have covered the soil where the roots are with a large rock-so the roots don't overheat and I water it at the roots.

Talk about serendipity - last year my husband had a double bypass and but the garden was OK ( weird)image Again , any advice would really be welcome.

I,m no expert but I ,m fairly sure a climbing rose needs to be in the ground, roots too deep for a pot, someone who knows more will be along to help

Sorry Polly, but Felicite Perpetue needs a deep root run, a pot isn't the place for it. Can you not replant it?
