There's a wild lightly wooded bank on my journey to visit my Aged Ps - it is frequently covered with a large patch of bright blue ajuga - the first time I saw it I had to stop the car to check what it was - whether it's hybridised with a garden form I don't know, but it's a fantastic blue.

The purple leaved garden ones probably have flowers as blue as that but it's pushed into the background by the purple.

  • many thanks for all your answers.  I'll list it as Bugle!  I'm making a list of all

the wild flowers in my garden and so far I have 28 different species.  The only

one which has disappointed me is the "world war one poppy".   I sowed hundreds

of them and only one has come up so far.  The ox eye daisies have]really

done well, as have the cornflowers, corn marigolds and corn cockles.    Will

post photos when they are all fully in bloom.   Nutcutlet I'll send you some

seeds if and when I can get some. I've not seen Bugle before, so I'm not

sure what to look for, but will do my best!image
