i really wanted an allium christophii, got one yesterday at plant sale, but somehow on the long way round walk home it's head fell off, just ready to open too, will it recover and have i any chance of it flowering this year?
Two days ago I over balanced and tipped over 3 trays of seedlings, some that had not yet germinated and a tray of mixed leaves for my chickens... Sometimes you can't do right for doing wrong can you?
Stick the head in a vase of water. I did this last week, it will still open. When it's fully open you can let the water dry up and you will have a nice seed head.

Last year i bought a fantastic hellebore, got it all the way home intact, then it fell out of the back of the car when I opened the door.
