Possible Hawthorn disease

Hi

I'm hoping someone might be able to help. We have a very long hedgerow of Hawthorn that appears to have been affected by some very strange disease.

Its affected quite a large proportion of the Hawthorn where the leaves (if you can call them that) are very shrivelled and small, especially considering they should be in full growth now. It also appears to have affected some of our other plants including a couple of roses, both prunus' and a few others. We've not had any issues before, although this is only our second year here.

Any help is greatly appreciated, so thanks in advance

my hawthorn is the same, looks like its dying a lot of dead wood and in the winds it lost a few branches. It has a few flowers ,I think its a virus as I have lost a few trees this year.

Hawthorns are susceptible to fireblight, a bacterial disease which is incurable and causes rapid death of branches. You could try removing and burning all the affected growth and cutting back into healthy wood.  However Rosa and Prunus do not suffer from it, so if it is the same problem it is not fireblight.
