I also use a small hand pump spray for small seedlings
I also use it to foliar feed with seaweed extract later in the season

  • I have a little spray cap that fits on the top of a 2-litre pop bottle. This is great for watering tiny seedlings. You sometimes see them in pound shops, or you can get them on eBay (search for "bottle top watering" and you'll find them).

I use sturdy bottles from supermarkets that say 100% juice, never from concentrate. Pricking holes in the lid is easy and it saves on recycling and it's free.

I always water seedlings from the bottom by standing the trays/pots in a tray of water for a few minutes until the surface of the compost starts changing colour.  No damage at all from watering that way. ;)
