Foxglove ?

Peanuts3Peanuts3 Posts: 759

Sorry I know I keep asking lots of questions re foxgloves, I have lots sprouting up and just want to make sure I'm keeping the real thing and not some thug

Is this really a foxglove ? The leaves are huge !

I sometimes get huge ones like that in this garden.  That will be the one you allow to go to seed and then when they're ripe just cut it down and swish it over the areas where you want foxgloves in the future image

  • If  I allow my foxglove to drop it seeds will they germinate naturally or do they require my assistance?

They'll do it themselves, but you may find they spread themselves a bit thickly, so when the seedpods are dry and beginning to open I cut the spike off and swish it around the beds and borders where I want more foxgloves. image

  • If it has a furry feel to the leaves then yes it probably is a fox glove. Could be a weed though! I let the weeds go to flower if I'm not sure then pull them out when I am sure!
