Hydrangea Leaves Turning Brown/Purple

Hello All. Could you help me identify what is the problem with my hydrangeas? I have 5 planted together in a border which gets full sun in the morning, light shade for the rest of the day. They have been planted in this location for 1 year. I have noticed in April that 3 of my plants leaves have started to turn brown/purple. Some of the leaves have started to crisp/curl at the edges. The leaves haven't fallen (yet!) Any help gratefully received.

This look like what is happening to mine! I planted it about a month or so ago and the leaves are turning an odd colour. Not all of them but some of them.

I dont know why its doing it either so I will be interested to see what people say! image

Probably you have had a few chilly nights - many plants get red or purple leaves when they get cold.  It shouldn't come to any permanent harm if that is what it is.  New growth when it gets warmer will be the right colour.  The plant looks healthy enough - if it were you and me then some throat lozenges would work, but probably not for a hydrangea - coff, cofff……….

Thanks so much - relieved it's not some kind of disease. I'll just give them a good talking to - tell them to toughen up!
