Repairing a hose

I have a small hole in the hose pipe. I was thinking of repairing it with a bicycle puncture repair kit. Will that work or is there something better?

Mark, No is the short answer. Most supermarkets with a garden section have hose to hose connectors for a couple of pounds, cut the bad bit out and fit the connector job done.
Frank.
Franks right iv done it loads of times, and it does a good connection for a couple o quid nearly all the supermarkets have a garden section and sell them.
Well that sounds much less of a bodge than my normal method of duct tape!!
Hi All, thanks for the info. Connector it is. Are they a bit bulky going around the reel
A word of warning - is the hose pipe getting a bit hard and cracky? They do deteriorate over time, especially if they are stored outside in the winter - the plastic degrades. When you get one leak it is often the start of a spate of them, and for a tenner it can be cheaper to get a new hose than keep repairing it.
mine is because I had a kink in it, that's where the hole is. I'll try a repair as above. If no joy I'll get a new hose
Kinks are the final straw when the plastic hardens. You may be alright if you make a point of not getting a kink in it again, I'm too gung ho about the garden to avoid kinks!!
Bust Bee? In my dreams Verdun. Nothing could be further from the truth.
