It's not rocket science....

Having planted two new beds I've been watching for pests and disease, particularly in the roses- had greenfly, black fly, black spot and something else I've  yet to look up.

So when my new rhododendron looked like it had been sat on, I sighed and wondered what bug was responsible.  Something in the roots perhaps? Too much sun?  Then it dawned on me....

it's been sat on!

I'm going to have a word with next doors cat.

Sometimes, you can try too hard, you know?!

As one who is having a bit of a gardening nightmare week I can sympathies the vile Cat two doors up (I like cats but this ones a nasty bully) killed a baby pigeon on my veg beds and left feathers and ucky bits all over my broccoli  and cauli seedlings. on Sunday.

Why do cats, insects and any other pest have to love lovely sunny well dug beds where plants grow so well or would if left to get on with it ?

Yep! know all about this. I netted my carotte and parsnip seeds thinking it would keep the cats off but no they trod all over the netting and pushed the seeds down and then lay on top of it. Have now got the water pistol out which is fine if you happen to see them!
