ive just split a load of astrantia (whitish with a hint of pink) for my mum, i'd like to have a clump but i'm too scared of importing her ground elder with a microscopic piece of root
Sanjy I quarantine stuff that i have doubts about. Separate into the smallest viable pieces and grow on in a pot for the summer. If nothing appears I plant it out.
Jo, I'll try and be more efficient in saving seed generally this year. I was a slacker last year

Mine are dwindling. I think their site has become too shady. I must sling some seed somewhere better.

I like these rubbery looking flowers - I bought a Tripedale one last year which is mostly pink and white. Bees seem to like them all the same
I didn't know the flowers stood up when pollinated - interesting to know...
yeah i still don't want to risk it i'll see if i can get some seed.
how long do the Siculum nectaroscordum take to flower from seed please ?
I got a big bagful cheap from Parkers. They will self seed in an undisturbed place, but easy from bulbs.
