How to grow a sagina subulata lawn

BalBal Posts: 93

Hi guys I want to grow a moss lawn in an area about 3 meters squred. Can any one tell me how best to go about this. can I sow directly into the ground, and do I prep the area as I would for a normal lawn thanks for any help

sagina isn't really moss pansy, just low growing and green.

I've never done this but I think I'd sow, prick out, pot on and plant when they get to a 3 inch pot stage. You won't get the thousands in a packet that you do with grass and that way you can be sure of an even spread

Thanks nut cutlet. I was going to try and sow the seeds, pot it on and then plant it out in pallets so I end up with a big square, then plant it on like turf. Do you think that would work?

    Sounds OK to me Bal.

No experience of this though so if anyone comes up with a better idea, go with itimage
