  • I would say you're making really good progress, OL and should be proud of yourself.

Hi Orchid Lady, last year I thought let's have a go at growing tomatoes for our salads. I bought one plant and was so keen to feed it that I made the mistake of feeding it before flowering. But it didn't harm the plant nor the fruit, but I did end up with a Triffid. image

It supplied fruit for us and a few neighbours for the whole summer.

And Yes, that is a chair supporting it! And I am doing exactly the same this year, my plant (which is a cheat as its grafted) is big already, but I'm not feeding! Well not yet anyway.

My Black Cherry is now nearly as tall as me and setting fruit; the others are reaching 3' and flowering.  All the sideshoots I planted have taken so i'll have loads of plants!  Anyone want some?
