Fatsia leaf disease

I wonder if someone can help me.  My fatsia young leaves have suddenly turned black at the end of April.  I have 3 plants in different parts of the garden and all of them have the same problem.  What is it and how can I treat it.

Thank you for reading.

Did you have a frost the other night?  The young leaves of fatsia are quite vulnerable to late frosts.  However it will throw out some more shoots soon.  If it's not had any fertiliser this year give it a dose of Fish, Blood and Bone (as directed on the pack) to make sure it's got the energy to grow some extra leaves image

Yes, I can confirm it was the naughty frost!  My one had instructions saying it was hardy down to minus five, and of course the plant will survive, but the black leaves were a horrible shock as the rest of the garden got no frost, but the fatsia faces east image.  Some hostas and an acer got got too.

Oh thank you Dovefromabove and Busy Bee2. You have both confirm my suspicion that it was frost.  Thank goodness it is not anything else.

No it should be fine, but next year if a late frost is predicted, you and I will know we have to take action with a bit of fleece or something!!

This year ive had the same problem with my fatsia, pieris japonica and magnolia, do I need to prune the damaged foliage or will the plants recover naturally?
