Help mutant Brussel Sprout

Hi all

Novice veggie grower here. I planted some young Evesham brussel sprouts in mid March, they were about 4 inches high.  One of them is now 4ft and still growing!  It's grown 6 inches in the last 3 days.

Is this normal?!

All advice greatly received.

    Where is it  growing?

  • In the ground in my new veggie plot at the back of my garden, I didn't enrich the soil or anything like that. Just dug a hole and popped them in. The rest are beginning to catch up with the monster!

I think you need to grow these on and save the seeds Georgie image

  • A giant sprout, now there is a happy thought!!

Dove - I think I will leave it, be interesting to see how high it goes.... will no doubt be asking how to save the seeds in the fullness of time...

    Thanks all
