It definitely looks like a type of Camassia.

Pam and Smudge thank you both! I've never heard of this before and having just googled it think it's alovely addition to the garden!
Try looking at the Ornithogalum family - there are quite a few different ones but are very similar.
I've never seen one before but I'd like it in my garden I looked up Camassia and Ornithogalum in the search area to see what they looked like and it couldn't find anything

If you put the name into google followed by the word 'image' you will get lots of pictures of them ie ornitholgalum images
