my hydrangea has purple brown leaves with holes

my hydrangeas have purply brown leaves with holes is this a type of disease and can it be treated?

    My hydrangea has purply brown leaves on the tips of the shoots, it's not happened before and I've had this plant 10 years - I'm putting it down to some sharp frosts we had as the leaves were coming out.

     I would think that the holes are insect-related but I wouldn't think they're much to worry about - I can't think of anything that attacks hydrangeas severely.
