I have never trimmed/pruned it before, because I thought it's too young. It's Choisya Goldfingers Limo. Maybe, it needs some food.
Maggie that's a new one to me but do like it doesn't matter if it flowers, but I'd give it a tomato / high potash feed, won't hurt it.
