Poppy ?

image

Can you please identify this plant, it must be some kind of poppy which grew over winter, unfortunately I have a super elfin rose which was planted last autumn to cover the fence behind. I'm not sure whether the plant in front will slow it's development , see photo. Many thanks Wendy

I see poppy and a couple of cornflowers.Unless the rose is tiny it will soon emerge from behind

  • Thank you Nutcutlet, , can you please tell me how long the poppy will be in flower , is it short lived ? Thanks.

I'm guessing from the look of it and the accompanying cornflowers that it's an annual.

Dis you sow an annual mix at some time?

  • No , the cornflower is only recently put in .The poppy has established it`s self over winter . As long as it does`t  slow down the rose behind ,I`m happy. Many thanks for your interest . Wendy .

If it looks as though it will hamper your rose you could pull it out or trim some off the back
