Shadey shrubs for a planter

I was wanting to put some lavender in some planters on our driveway, but that side of the house is in full shade. I am not sure they will do particularly well there. Is there anything else that is year round, and that thrives in full shade please?

fatsia japonia makes a dramatic focal point in a large planter , even in total shade. I'd av
avoid lavender.
Many thanks. Sounds like it's a good choice, providing our garden centre has them in stock!
I have a small rhododendron, yakushimamun, in a pot in full shade. But it is only in flower in May, although it is evergreen.
