Holm oak leaf problem?
Hi - we moved into our property last year and this year the holm oak which is an evergreen, seems to be shedding its leaves. Over the past few days leaves are turning yellow/brown and falling. From the websites I've read, there is no mention of leaf fall so I am thinking this is a bad thing. The grass around it is also turning yellow - possibly due to lack of water so we're getting the hose on it this evening. We had various areas of the garden cleared of trees and shrubs and replaced with turf last year, including under the holm oak which we also chopped the lower branches off.
Can anyone advise?
Thanks, Melanie

Are all the leaves turning yellow and dropping? Evergreens drop leaves at some point in the season. That's normal

Hi - well, a lot of them are turning yellow but too early to say if all of them are. But there has been significant leaf fall over the past week - enough for me to rake them up.
Do the growing times look healthy? That's the important bit

Hi - what do you mean by growing "times"?
must be the wine Melanie, growing tips I meant to type
If it's making new growth and dropping some old leaves that's OK. If new growth is yellowing and dropping, that's not OK
