Hi all, thanks for all your comments. The snails will have a job coming back - the wildlife area of the park is across two roads and a railway line.

Old Chippy - sorry to hear that so many people don't like your garden! I hope a nice gardener buys your house who will appreciate all your hard efforts.

    Kate

  • Oh heck .. I hope that park is a LONG way away as snails can 'home' for three MILES !!!!

Hi Kate tried to down load pictures of garden with no luck so I posted it on G/W facebook page David Page.

  • I havent seen a thrush in garden for 2 years and only hedgehogs ive seen have played too near to the road so the same fate awaits my slugs and snails /a trip to local woods in long grass they will take there chances. Ive used the organic pellets in past but not so good according to latest article in april GW mag so i used hair and home made garlic spray but still over whelmed withe snails /it must hae been the mild wet winter

I have horrendous problems with slugs and snails, my husband made me a veggie plot a couple of years ago but have had to give up on that idea as they were eating everything no matter what I did. Don't use slug pellets as have pets, resident frogs and think its cruel. So I`m now turning the plot into a cottage style garden but the slugs are attacking again. I am gonna have to do the torch vigil, much to my husbands amusment.

  • I go out ever night with the torch and collect snail and slugs and put them in my garden bin so they have food
