When to dig it all up

BluebaronBluebaron Posts: 226

I have a large Forget-me-knot bed which self seeded. It still looks nice with a few bluebells but looking at the 'what to do now' section in gardeners World it said time to clear them.I do want to plant a hardy annual bed and its getting late to sow.

Shame it will look like mud for a month though.

Any other ideas?

It does still look pretty, I hate pulling plants up when still in flower. Any chance of sowing your hardy annuals into modules to give them a start?

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I put hardy annuals into plug trays, then just transplant to fill the gaps. I wont pull out all my forgetmenots until they start to go over. I have plants in pots ready to fill the spaces.
