Whats eating my Nubia buds
I moved two Clematis Nubia last year and they climb up wigwams in two areas.

I cut them back to a foot or so but I think the combination of me storing them during the move in a greenhouse and perhaps the new planting area having a lot of organic matter added has caused them to start flowering!! Which would be fine if it wasnt that every other bud seems to be nibbled by an unseen monster.

It is usually snails which cause damage to clematis buds. They are adept climbers and the best way to catch them is by going out at night armed with a torch.
